Top: one of the concepts for an unused Wonder effect in Super Mario Bros. Wonder was Mario riding on top of a giant Goomba.
Bottom: a similar scenario has appeared in one of the event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee (though the Goomba there is merely a giant version of a Goomba trophy and as such inanimate). Whether the Wonder effect was created partially in reference to this or whether this is a complete coincidence is unknown.
