There have been two occasions on which Bowser’s airship has been shown to possess a large mechanical hand attached to a series of articulated pipes: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (top) and New Super Mario Bros. U/Luigi U/Deluxe (bottom).
Curiously, in both of these instances, the ship is left-handed. Whether this is a coincidence, or if the later example is a reference to the former, or if both of them are left-handed on purpose for some specific other reason, is unknown.

In the first Super Mario Maker, the physics of Super Mushrooms and Cape Feathers change if they emerge out of a vertical pipe, fall down onto a trampoline, and finally are eaten and spat out by Yoshi. The Cape Feather will behave like a Super Mushroom and slide along the ground, while the Super Mushroom will simply stay in place.

In Starshine Beach Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2, there is an invisible “produce a splash effect” field between the starting planet and the main planet. It is only meant to be accessed via a Launch Star to create a few splashes as Mario flies through.
If glitches are used to access the field without the Launch Star, such as by performing an infinite Yoshi flutter jump, it is revealed that it creates a new splash effect every frame that it is touched. As long as Mario and Yoshi are inside the field, they will be completely surrounded by bubbles as shown in the screenshot.

An official 2024 Japanese art book for the Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario RPG featured two groups of renders of the playable characters: a standing one on the front cover and a posing one on the inside cover.
The animation above flips between scans of the two pages.

As discussed in my Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door livestreams, there is an immensely rare event whereby Luigi would throw a rock at Mario. Finally, I have managed to obtain footage of it.
Please join me on the Supper Mario Broth Twitch channel for an analysis of the final chapter of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!
In Mario Kart DS, Rocky Wrenches appear as obstacles on the Airship Fortress track. As only their upper half is intended to be seen when they pop up from the ground, their lower half is simply a mirrored version of the upper half.
Clipping the camera into the ground reveals the two-headed nature of the Rocky Wrenches.
